Install Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. featuring several new improvements and bug fixes, Marshmallow is a big update and companies like Samsung have been working hard to deliver it as soon as possible. Pre-requisites

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware – Galaxy S6 SM-G920F | Galaxy S6 edge – SM-G925F

Odin 3.10.7 – download here

Samsung USB motorists – download here

Make sure your Galaxy S6 or S6 edge is charged enough before you start installing the Marshmallow update.

Additionally, we recommend you backup your data before going ahead with this.

Install Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow On Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Installing the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is fairly easy. However, exercise caution and be sure to follow these basic steps throughout.

Once your data backup is complete, power down the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.

Install Odin 3.10.7 downloaded above.

Unzip the Marshmallow update file and extract the firmware zip from it.

Make sure the Samsung USB motorists have been installed properly.

Now, press these three buttons concurrently to enter download mode – power, volume down and home.

Once you are in download mode, connect the phone to your computer and open Odin.

In Odin, click on AP. select the Marshmallow firmware zip that you extracted in the third step.

Click start to begin the installation.
