any individual who had the original iphone back in 2007 will remember that it had an appalling camera. It wasn’t just not up to the standards of today – it wasn’t up to the standards of 2007. Thankfully, as the years have rolled on by, someone at Apple realized that people like to take photos with their phones, partly thanks to their always-connected nature and the fact that they’re always with us.
The best cam Is The One That’s With You – Chase Jarvis
The new iphone 6 is proving to be quite the formidable cam already, with plenty of hardware and software features that must keep amateur and professional photographers delighted – at least until next year. throw in the plethora of exceptional third-party cam apps on the app Store, and the iphone photography landscape looks rather impressive.
But it wasn’t always that way.
To illustrate that point, Lisa Bettany, co-founder of Camera+ and MagiCam, has put together a blog post that takes all of the eight iPhones ever released and shows just how the iphone cam has progressed throughout. From the original iphone and through the iphone 3G, iphone 3GS, iphone 4, iphone 4s, iphone 5, iphone 5s and now the iphone 6, Apple has been steadily tweaking its cam technology without falling into the megapixel race that has besotted its competitors. The results, as Bettany shows, are very good indeed.
The examples used include macro shots, back-lit stills and portraits as well as the a lot more basic daylight composition. It’s clear to any individual just how the iphone 6 differs to its older brothers, and we can even see discernible improvements between last year’s iphone 5s and the new using from Apple.
As for the iphone 6 Plus, with its optical image stabilization, Bettany wasn’t able to get her hands on one for testing. given the phone’s sheer size though, she’s not convinced it would fit in her hands anyway.
